Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Prepiness

It’s officially 4th of July weekend friends! This holiday is one of my favorites of the year because it’s during summer, it is spent with family and friends, the food is delicious and I am a sucker for a good theme (hello red, white and blue everything).

I couldn’t pass up the festive touch of a red white and blue bomb pop! 😉

 

When outfit planning for the 4th, I knew I wanted something comfy.  I unfortunately have to work until 3 so I wanted an outfit that would be no hassle and easy to throw on once I got home from working at the beach.  Living near the shore it can also get a little chilly in the evening so I wanted something that would keep me warm.  I knew when I dug this sweater out of the closet that it would be the perfect option.  To add the pop of blue and give it a more nautical feel I added seersucker anchor printed shorts.  I kept the rest of the outfit relatively simple so that the flag on the sweater could do all the talking.  But to add to the preppy nautical feel of the outfit I knew that my KJP bracelets would be the perfect accessories to step it up a notch.  I personally am obsessed with this look, its both festive, preppy and chic, but hey maybe I am a little biased 😉

While writing this post I started to reminisce on all of the great memories I have made on the 4th of July over the years.  I can’t remember a 4th of July not spend down at our shore house in CT filled with family and friends, digging clams, sparkler fun, and endless sweets.    I can’t wait to make new memories at my favorite place with my favorite people this year!
